Week 4: RSS and News Readers

I set up an account in Google Reader, which I think I’ll find many uses for. I’m a little overwhelmed and trying to keep all this information straight. This week-end I plan to review what I’ve learned and where I’ve been the last few weeks and add some more to this blog.

Week3: Images and Recommending a good book

As I do a lot of Readers’ Advisory work I’m looking forward to learning more about sites for readers.

Week 2: Del.icio.us and Tagging

I tried del.icio.us before but coulfn’t get into it. This time I’m doing better in understanding the concept, and probably because the class is motivating me to keep up. I think del.icio.us will be very helpful as a place to store bookmarks so they can be accessible from whatever computer I’m using at work or at home.

Week1: Blogging

Although we do have a staff blog, this is my first attempt on setting up my own. WordPress made it easier than I thought it would be. I will try to post each week.

My name is Susan Tierney Oslin and I’m the reference librarian at the Kingston Public LIbrary. I am hoping to learn more about the world of blogging and new web resources that we can use the connect to our patrons. As a large portion of my working day is spent on the reference desk , I am challenged to find the time to do the course work for Library 2.0 and keep up, but I’ll keep trying!
